How to choose a fenestration? Part 2
The second part of our series helps us to choose the form and the dimension of the window and door leaf.
WHAT KIND OF FORM AND DIMENSION
Rectangular-formed, trapezium, triangular, polygonal-formed, perhaps arched one?
Large or small glass surface, divided or large pane one?
These questions have to be decided during the planning, as the form of the fenestration, its size, its division, its placement affects the whole house, the overall picture of the building can be formed with the windows and doors. It is worth discussing the ideas with the architect.
Generally it can be said that in case of the convertible window or door-leaves (particularly at the plastic) the rectangular forms are beneficial in terms of the practicality, the long-term applicability. Some remarks: the large, arched for example 150/150 single-leafed tilt-turn windows will not work in both functions unobstructed for a long time.
The acute angle window-leaves less than 35-40 degrees can stop during the opening that can be corrected by eroding.
It is necessary to think about the place that a 150/150 single-leafed window occupies at the time of opening for example in a 3x3 m room, but the same one – or bigger one - how well look in a 40 m2 living-room.
It would be possible to enumerate everything to which it is necessary to pay attention; it is worth demanding the specialist's help.
